Egyptian cartouches

To go along with our book fair, we studied ancient Egyptian art.  The 2nd and 3rd graders made these cartouches and accented them with gold paint.  The 4th and 5th graders are still working on their winged scarabs, so I will post those as soon as they finish those up.

Little Turkeys!

I only have my kindergarteners 20 minutes per class, so the lessons have to be short, sweet, and to the point.  I had this picture copied for them, and they went along with me drawing the different kinds of lines on the turkey feathers.  I thought they turned out pretty cute!  Here are a couple of "in Progress" designs.

Haunted Houses

This week, some of the classes worked on Haunted Houses.  Needless to say, not one finished.  We were making so many details!  We talked about adjectives that described haunted houses, and how they didn't have to be perfect since many of them were falling down anyway.  My rule was there could be no Freddy, Jason, or Chuckie characters.  Or the actual act of killing someone.  Wow.  These kids have watched a lot of scary movies...
Anyway, I will upload some if they ever finish.  These may go home so we can move on- otherwise some will be working until Christmas break!

I'm BACK!!!! I needed a place to put my new HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT'S work, so here I am. Things got pretty overwhelming a few years ago...
